After some unfortunate delays (events in February and March were cancelled) we’ll be organizing our first tango salón in Leeuwarden on Saturday 21st of April.
We named the event “058”, after the city code of Leeuwarden. This code accidentally happens to be composed of some numbers with a special meaning in tango. Step 5 (‘cinco’, the cross step), the 8 (‘ocho’) and 0 (for the occasion symbolizing ‘la ronda’).

General information on our classes and events
At State of Tango we are dedicated to pass on the magic of social and improvised Argentine tango to a new generation of tango lovers.
We believe that the Argentine tango scene could be much ‘bigger’ than it is already, if only more people would know what Argentine tango is really about… A beautiful human dance that fits almost all combinations of two individuals, no matter the age, colour, culture, religion, size or whatever other ‘difference’.
State of Tangos’ explicit focus on tango as a social and improvised dance is the result of what we have experienced ourselves during our sabbatical in the fountainhead of tango, Buenos Aires. And this reflects directly in anything we do. Enhancing the pleasure of social dancing is the goal of our efforts, and humour, musicality, elegance, playfulness and technique are the cornerstones of our classes. And with result. Over the years, many students have told us that we’ve managed to enrich their understanding of tango with our approach.
In our beginners courses and bootcamps we will teach you the skills for dancing socially, the basic movements that 90% of our dance is made of. In our intermediate and advanced courses we help you to become a really good and appreciated social dancer.
